We are just a 5-minute drive from the lively seaside town of Lyme Regis, often called the Pearl of Dorset. The town offers a variety of excellent dining options, independent shops, and a stunning beach with views stretching along Lyme Bay. Daily deep-sea and mackerel fishing trips depart from Lyme Regis Harbour throughout the summer. There’s also a vibrant calendar of events and festivals, including Fossil Fest, Lifeboat Week, Regatta and Carnival Week, the Lyme Regis Folk Festival, and the Food Rocks Festival.
Only 5 minutes away is Charmouth, a slightly quieter village with a beautiful beach and scenic walking routes. While there are fewer dining options on the beach, visitors can enjoy a picnic or head into the village center, where pubs, a café, and a fish and chip shop await. The Heritage Centre in Charmouth is a must-visit for anyone interested in fossils or the history of the Jurassic Coast.
Both Lyme Regis and Charmouth are easily accessible on foot from the campsite. A well-marked footpath through fields leads directly to the center of Charmouth and Lyme, offering a chance to explore the stunning West Dorset countryside. The walk takes around 40 minutes and can be steep in places on the return. Alternatively, the local bus route stops just a 10-minute flat walk from the campsite, or you can use the park and ride service, only 2 minutes away by car, which operates throughout the summer.
The market town of Bridport is just a 20-minute drive away and is also well-served by buses. The South West Coast Path is nearby, providing excellent walking opportunities in both directions, only a 5-minute walk from the campsite. From our location, many family-friendly attractions are easily accessible, including Crealy in Exeter, the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, Pecorama in Beer, Monkey World in Swanage, Seaton Tramway and Wetlands in Seaton, the Swannery and Subtropical Gardens in Abbotsbury.

Food & Drink at the Campsite
We now have food available on site! Food is served from the small building next to the washing-up facilities. Look out for the A-board by the toilet and shower block to see what’s on offer that morning or evening.
Our delicious breakfast baps are served between 8:30am and 10:00am from Umpies Kitchen, made with fresh local baps from Charmouth Bakery and eggs from our own free-range chickens. Tea and coffee are also available.
We’re delighted to welcome Big Ronda’s Pizzeria to the campsite on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the season. Big Ronda and her team of pizza-making maestros will be serving their delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
With previous customers describing Big Ronda’s pizzas as both “circular” and “very tasty,” they’re not to be missed!

Beat the seafront queues and prices, then head back to the campsite for a relaxed dinner—with a lot fewer seagulls, too! Please check the A-board during your stay to see what’s being served, or ask a member of staff for details.
We also sell a selection of alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and cans. Simply visit the food servery when it’s open (next to the washing-up facilities) or ask a member of staff.
